Yes, I was stage 2 ER/PR positive, her2 negative, and I had chemo first to shrink the tumor before surgery. Age also made a difference in my treatment, I was 29 when diagnosed.

It depends on what is contained on a cellular level. What type of breast cancer, stage, grade, onco DX. Her2+ ER- PR- ? Lots of findings go into the decision for your treatment. It isn't just because it is a 2A. That is only part of it. You are still in the discovery-phase of your diagnosis. Once your path is clear, you will honestly feel better about everything. You will know a lot more in days to come. Hang in there.... you will be ok even if you have to have chemo. Take care, Sharon

Yep. I was Stage 2A with negative nodes. However, my oncotype was very high, indicating a high risk of recurrence. That was the reason I had chemo. I would have done anything to decrease the chance of a recurrence. it also can depend on the type of cancer (lobular, invasive, etc.) and the size of the tumor. There are many factors that go into it. If you have to have chemo it's ok. I expected the worst and it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Don't get me wrong -- it's not a fun experience, and you feel pretty bad for a while. But it doesn't last forever.

Yes, I had chemo because my oncologist said my biology trumped my stage. I have Her2 breast cancer with other high risk factors. My tumor was 2.1 cm, no nodes, no mets. But path report had some bad stuff in it.

I was for anything that would lessen the reoccurance. I completed my chemo in January and radiation in April.

Yes, I am doing chemo because my oncho test results showed a higher rate of recurrence probability than was acceptable to me and my oncologist.

Do you mind me asking what your onco score was? Mine was 10, I was pretty happy with that.

It is all very scary. Just hold on til the reports come in. I was one test(oncoDX) away from chemo. Pathology on tumor determined my treatment. I was Stage 2A IDC,grade one, clean nodes and margins, 2.7 cm tumor, ER,PR positive Her2 neg, no more risk factors other than being female. A lot of factors will push you down a path. Best of luck. :-D Jo

Yes;6 rounds 3 weeks apart. I have triple neg IDC stage 2 grade 3 3.5 cm tumor. Chemo first to shrink lump to operable size. I'm half way through chemo and can't even feel the lump anymore! 3 more treatments then I'll have a lumpectomy and radiation. Every treatment plan is unique to each person....
