Do ports hurt?

    My port didn't hurt and as Alison noted, lots of women don't even notice they are there. That was the way for me. I must admit, after I had the port removed, the area itched for quite a while. The healing process of the area where the port was bugged me worse than anything. We are all different and what I experienced or didn't doesn't mean you will have the same reaction. The port, for the most part, is a very small part of the process but makes the delivery of your treatments a whole lot easier for you. Take care, Sharon

    Mine has hurt pretty much the whole time I've had it. But lots of women say they don't even know its there.

    I've had min since 10-09. It doesn't hurt. Only know it is there if I bump it. Each person is diff. Hope you get along with yours ok. Good luck.

    Mine does not hurt. It was placed a few months ago the day before my first chemo. It was a little uncomfortable the first few days but once the I cocoon healed it's been fine. :) Julie

    Mine doesn't hurt. It was sore after 1st treatment, but not since. Good luck to you.

    Mine hurt the first few months and was kinda sore after every treatment. I wasn't able to lay on that side either ;( but now it doesn't bother me at all. Last chemo was in May!!! I can Finally sleep on my side too!
