I go every two weeks but my acupuncturist doesn't put needles in the effected arm. He puts them everywhere else and it does help. I usually feel great after getting it done.

Becky, that is a tough one. Four years ago I had acupuncture following chemo, rads and bilateral mastectomy to relieve peripheral neuropathy, but I did not have nodes removed at that time. The acupuncture helped the neuropathy a lot, but I don't know how it would work with node removal.

I haven't had any experience with it but have read on several medical sites that it might be an option for some patients. I don't know why it would be considered though because of the needles. Seems it might trigger lymphedema for those prone to it. I've practiced yoga for 12 years and so thankful I found it early. I had a partial mastectomy-took bottom third of my breast-and three nodes removed for sentinel biopsy-can't compare to your situation. Was able to begin gentle stretching four weeks after surgery and am thrilled that that tightness under my arm and chest is much improved. It was a great aid during radiation to help with swelling and fluid retention. July 4th is my 3 month celebraion out of surgery. I hope you find the answer to your question. As a yogi, I can't help but encourage women to be gentle to themselves. My instructor always began with the slogan, "No Pain, No Pain." Sounded good to me. Have a great day. Jo

I've done yoga for over 10 years now. It's great! I do acupuncture also to help with fibromyalgia and back pain that yoga just hasn't been able to help.

I didn't have nodes removed but I had a dull pain in my breast after a lumpectomy and rads. I tried acupuncture and it worked. It was almost immediate!!!
